Chef Truman's Pie Pancakes

Since it's been over a year, I guess it's time to post on this here blog. Truman inspired me to today. He is SOOO excited to have made his own recipe & have it turn out ok. He really wanted me to "put it on the internet" so he could share his recipe. He typed in "Chef book" to try & put it in one. I thought we'd do this for now. He wrote down this recipe all on his own about a week ago and ever since he's been wanting to try it. We finally had time to today. It's kind of a mix between cornbread, cake, puffy pancakes, and just plain baking soda (probably a little too much was used :-) We put honey or maple syrup on & it was great. After tasting it he said, "It's quite good. Thanks to me we made a delicious thing." After we all kept trying a little more he said "We just can't help ourselves, right? We just want to eat it!" He cracks us up! He really wants to be a chef someday & I have dozens of pictures of him making things & presenting them uniquely. Once I get caught up on life, I'll post some more. His grandmothers & great aunties would be proud. He really wanted to share it with someone, & decided to bring it to his friend Nathan's family who lives up the street. If any of you would also like to try it, he wants to make some every Sunday, so we'll bring some to whoever asks!
A few corrections I just noticed... it was baking "soda", 1/2 "cup" of milk, and 1 "Tablespoon" butter. We had to write in "salted" butter because ours wasn't salted, so we added a little salt.
